Venus goes to the next round in the U.S. Opens and Eurweb.com reports, she also launched her new clothing line.
*Shortly before beginning play this week in the U.S. Open, Venus Williams attended the official launch of her fashion line EleVen at retailer Steve & Barry’s in New York.
The store partnered with Williams in the creation of the 120-piece collection, the largest ever launched by a female athlete.
The line includes nine styles of athletic footwear in a variety of color ways, track suits, fleece outerwear, street active apparel, graphic t-shirts, puffy down jackets with removable sleeves, denim jackets and jeans, velour items, tote and gym bags, jewelry, sports socks and bras.
I’m rooting for Venus on and off the court.

I saw her wearing one of the sweatsuits from her line. It looked good. Better than Sarah Jessica Parker’s line at H&M.
I haven’t seen any of SJP’s stuff yet, but I like what I’ve seen of the Venus line so far.
I really liked the tennis dress that Venus wore during her first round match of the open. (Was it lavender or maybe turquoise?) Not quite as fond of the booty shorts.
I love the black and hot pink dress that Serena is wearing this open. It looks elegant and she’s wearing it in the right size so it looks fabulous on her.
I like a lot of the pieces in SJP’s line. I think what I like most of all is that she’s made it accessible to everyone. It is priced right and comes in a wide range of sizes.
