Army Wives Season Finale airs on Lifetime

Army Wives on Lifetime has become one of my favorite shows to watch. It’s hard to pinpoint why. Maybe because it reminds me of the time of when my fiance (now ex-fiance) was in the service and I was left behind when he fought in the Gulf War. Anyway, if you haven’t seen the show; definately check it out in re-runs. If you do watch it, chime in and let’s discuss.

Lifetime

Update: The summer’s hottest new series ended in almost a bang. Frank, Trevor and Chase are deployed. I like the way the show portrayed the emotional good-byes. It was realistic.  Some of the surprises was the person you thought would be pregnant wasn’t but someone you least expected to be pregnant was. It was appropriate that the show ended with them all at the bar. The surpise was when a disgruntle army husband walks in wearing a bomb. (I sort of figured he would be the culprit)…anyway, just when he gets ready to hit the trigger, the show goes off and Lifetime airs a clip of Halle Berry’s upcoming new movie. Now we have to wait until next season to see if he blows up the place, will anyone get hurt or will he come to his senses.

What books have you read recently?

The Morning After Pill

Have you heard about this new form of contraceptive available to women called “the morning after pill?”

Sales of the Plan B “morning-after pill” nearly doubled in the past year, exceeding expectations after the U.S. government allowed adults to buy the emergency contraceptive without a prescription. Source: Yahoo News

I’m all for the freedom to choose, but to me this is just another excuse or opportunity for  youngsters and irresponsible adults to practice unsafe sex.  Unsafe sex leads to more disease and heartache. The best cure for not getting pregnant is to obstain from sex.

Nicole Richie In and Out of Jail in Record Time

Nicole Richie was sentenced to serve four days in jail for DUI, but faster than you can blink; Nicole was back on the streets. She spent 82 minutes or 1 hour and 22 minutes or 4, 920 seconds behind bars.    Facing the musicIf I lived in California, I would be upset. That’s a waste of taxpayers money. She might as well have gotten probation from the beginning.

Reality TV star Nicole Richie was released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after serving just 82 minutes of her four-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.

Richie reported to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. After being processed, sheriff’s officials released her at 4:37 p.m. Source: LA Times

I could spend 82 minutes in rush hour traffic trying to get from point A to point B. I could spend 82 minutes shopping at Wal-mart. I could spend 82 minutes surfing the net and not getting any work done. I wish I could get my a hair done in 82 minutes.

Was justice served?

Michael Vick Admits Guilt in Dog Case

TMZ.com  has obtained the plea agreement in the Michael Vick case. In it, Vick “admits the facts set forth in the statement of facts.”

A portion of the summary of facts reads “Vick agreed to the killing of approximately 6-8 dogs that did not perform well in testing sessions …”

He could face up to 5 years in jail.

Eurweb.com reported earlier that Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III had been charged with felony aggravated assault and making terrorist threats against his wife, televangelist Juanita Bynum, after he allegedly stomped and choked her in a hotel parking lot and threatened to kill her.

The Atlanta Constitution reported this morning that Weeks has surrendered to authorities.

Thomas W. Weeks, a 54-year-old bishop who shares an international ministry with his estranged wife Juanita Bynum, surrendered to Atlanta police Friday on charges that he assaulted his wife.

Bynum’s husband has retained two lawyers: famed defense attorney Ed Garland to represent him in the criminal case; and Louis Tesser, to take care of the domestic matter.Garland has in the past represented NFL star Ray Lewis in his murder trial and millionaire James Sullivan, who ordered the murder of his socialite wife.

“He very much regrets what happened and said he’s sorry for what it’s worth,” Tesser said Thursday night.

Weeks loves his wife, Tesser said, and “he hopes he doesn’t wind up getting a divorce.”

“Anytime you tell a person, ‘I’m going to kill you,’ that moves it up to a felony,” Campbell said. And her bruises were serious enough to merit felony aggravated assault charges against Weeks.

In a comment posted on her MySpace page, the evangelist said, “I am currently recovering from all of my injuries and resting well … this, too, shall pass.”

“People are interpreting it to mean the two of them were fighting,” Malone said. “They were not fighting. She was assaulted.”
