Academy Award Trivia with Bettye Griffin

Coming April 28th!  One of my favorite authors (Bettye Griffin) is having a contest over on her blog. Here’s the information:

Join me on my blog (www.chew-the-fat-with-Bettye.blogspot.com)  for Academy Award Trivia during the first three weeks of February.  Starting February 1st and every 2 days through the 21st, I will be posting a quote or a dialogue exchange from a movie.  Name the movie (you’ll have 48 hours to get your answers in) and start to accumulate points!  Bonus questions will also be included for extra credit.  First prize is an ARC of A New Kind of Bliss.  Be one of the first people anywhere to read this exciting new novel!  Second prize is a $10 Barnes & Noble or Borders gift certificate, third prize is an autographed mass market edition of The People Next Door (winners outside of the U.S. will receive a substitute 2nd prize).  So don’t miss out!

We Take This Man by Candice Dow and Daaimah Poole

We Take This Man is a tale of two women (Alicia and Tracey) and one man (Dwight).  The characters will take you on a rollercoaster journey of their lives. You will be surprised at how things turn out.

All I can say is as a woman, I couldn’t do it…but Ms Dow and Ms Poole weaved a tale that was believable for the fictional world. You will get emotionally involved in the book because you will want to slap a few of the characters for various reasons. Hurry up and get your copy so we can discuss.

We Take This Man was one of my favorite January releases.

The Bishop’s Daughter by Tiffany L Warren

The Bishop’s Daughter by Tiffany L Warren is probably my favorite out of all of her books.

The Bishop’s Daughter is about playboy slash writer Darrin Bainbridge. While on his quest to prove that one of Atlanta’s most popular TV evangelist is up to no good, he finds himself in some nail biting situations.

The story starts off with drama and the pace doesn’t slow down. Once you think Darrin has gotten himself out of one situation, he’s into something else. Overall, it was a good quick read and will make a good book to discuss. If you haven’t read any books by this author, I suggest picking up The Bishop’s Daughter, you won’t be disappointed.

Jennifer Hudson rendition of the Star Spangled Banner had people all over the country in tears and cheering at the same time. Ms. Hudson sang that song. If you don’t believe me, see it for yourself.
