I try to keep a positive attitude about things. Every now and then however, I let something bring me down. During those times, either one of my trusted friends tell me what I don’t want to hear, but need to hear or I have to check myself.
How do you maintain a positive attitude?

Like you Sheila I have a circle of wonderful Godly friends who often hold me accountable to maintaining the right attitude. I think we all need that from time to time! Lets be honest, sometimes we all get besides ourselves in the attitude department and we need someone to pull us back to the right side! LOL!
But for me its more important to have and maintain a right attitude about things vs. a positive attitude. Sometimes even with a positive attitude I can be positively wrong, but often with the right attitude and a focus on doing the right thing in any situation, I am enabled to stay true to a Godly character and integrity.
Great question by the way!
Valerie, this was well said. “But for me its more important to have and maintain a right attitude about things vs. a positive attitude. I can’t think of anything to add after that

Amen Angelia.
I first, try to see the good in people and not focus on the negative. I think if we come with a smile and positive attitude, they will eventually smile back and feel good as well. I think most of us are going through something, but a smile can bring us back in line.
I also have to talk to God when I do not feel good or do not like what someone said to me. I have to turn the left cheek, but still remain calm. I want to please God, not man is what I have to remind myself. Forgive. Be able to love my neighbor as well as my enemy. It can be difficult, but we are examples of Jesus and we need to show it on the outside with our attitudes.

Adrienna, a smile can go a long way.
You lower your expectations. Not your standards. But you expect less of man because you know he will disappoint you.
You “meet with triumph and disaster, and treat those two impostors just the same,” because that’s truly what they are: impostors. Don’t get too high in the good moments nor too low in the bad. Understand that everything has it’s purpose, and I promise your attitude will reflect positivity.
