Authors Love Meeting Other Authors Too
Today, I’ll post pictures of some of the authors I got a chance to meet at the 2009 Author!Author Book Festival on Saturday, June 13. I was thrilled to be sitting near Charlaine Harris. True Blood series on HBO is based on her Sookie Stackhouse novels. Several hundred people stood in line to get her autograph and since I was sitting near her, I got to socialize with some interesting people. Here’s a pic of me talking to one of my favorite authors “after” the crowd died down.

Paula (Charlaine Harris’ assistant), me, Charlaine Harris (Of course I had to get her autograph too
)

Me, Crystal Brown-Tatum {author of Caramel & Cream-Saltwater Taffy and Red High Heels}and Tracy Carnes {author of Excess Baggage}
Crystal has the most beautiful spirit. Tracy’s smile is also contagious. Both of their stories are inspiring.

Rod Farrington (author of the Spinners Trilogy) and Me {he was my neighbor}

Me and Winnie Griggs (author of The Hand-Me-Down Family) {she was my other neighbor}

Sheila Jackson (author of The Enemy Within) and Me
It was great seeing her again. She has some inspiring words, so be sure to check out her book.

I had a great time.
You are right, we love to meet other authors and obtain their wealth of knowledge.
I know I love, love meeting other authors. I always learn something I might not have learned if I hadn’t made that connection. Last year my big author meet was ReShonda Tate Billingsley while she was at http://www.faithandfictionretreat.com She’ll be there this year also, so it’ll be good to see her again and glean some more. This year, Tiffany L. Warren (author of The Bishop’s Daughter – page turner ya’ll) has really been a blessing and we’ve become fast friends.
