Three things are certain on the current earth and they are life, death and change.  In the past I experienced all three when dealing with the murder of my beloved brother, death of my grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, student and cousins; through it all I had different experiences with each and everyone.  But, one constant emotion arouse and that was anger towards God and when I expressed that anger to my Christian family guilt developed.  My family often questioned my sanity to even think about being mad at God which caused me to question my emotions and my ability to be mad at the Most High. 

My anger put me in a quandary of my faith.  Through that process my journey began, to find answers to, death, grieving, God, healing and can I be mad at God.  So, in 2007 to 2009 I went on a journey to research the bible.  Through my path to research and healing I created a book to assist all people grow better in grief and grieving.  My book entitled No More Good-Byes:What the Bible Say’s About Winning In Grief helped turn my anger into a closer relationship with my Father God through His Son Jesus.  I know you may ask how can someone be mad at God and build a closer relationship? Through my anger I realized, God love for me never changed.  That showed me God is not like man and He is big enough and strong enough to handle anything I may try to throw at Him, even anger. His love for me in spite of me caused me to love and understand my Father God more. 

My healing drove me to action because according to the Word of God He comforts us in our day of trouble so we can comfort others.  By God comforting me I was driven to comfort others by created the book, the free website www.JoyWillCome.com and now my documentary to assist others in their grief, grieving and healing process.

My response: Because “urban” fiction can be defined in so many ways, for the sake of responding to your question, I will list some of my favorite books by African-Americans instead of defining it by genre.

DeBorah Ann Palmer says: I am in the process of writing two poetry books. How do I go about getting published?
My response:  Research. The best advice I can give is to make Google your best friend. Whatever question you have about publishing can be found by putting it in the google search tool. Invest in the “Writer’s Market” book – print or e-book. Learn what you can about the submission process. I can’t say this enough, google or any search engine is your friend. Be sure to follow agents and/or publisher submission guidelines.

DeBorah Ann Palmer says: How do I find a publisher or some way to market and sell my book? I plan to debut book #1 October 2010.
My response: Also see my response above. Remember that the road to publishing is not for the faint at heart. The publisher is in control of the release date. For example, a book bought today may not see the bookshelf until late 2010 or 2011. You can hope if you got picked up today for an October 2010 but I wouldn’t count on it and wouldn’t be disappointed if it wasn’t released in that month. The only time you have control over a release date is when you are self-published. If you self-publish, I suggest you get my ebook – The 4-1-1 on self-publishing. Tricia says: I read My Invisible Husband. Do you plan on bringing back Nikki or Byron in a sequel?
My response: Nikki and Byron both make an appearance in my latest book – His Invisible Wife. I won’t tell you why because it’ll spoil the story, but I think you’ll like this couple’s updated status.

Ann says: I see that you are now writing teen books. Will you still write romance books?
My response: Yes. I love writing both.

Sash says: Will there be a part two for “His Invisible Wife” or “My Invisible Husband”?
My response: Some of the characters who first appeared in My Invisible Husband make a re-appearance in His Invisible Wife. It is possible that there will be a third book in the “Invisible” series, but as for right now it’s up in the air.
