I will never forget hearing two words, “Daddy’s gone” on the phone at 1:25 a.m. on November 4th 13 years ago. Sometimes it seems like yesterday and then other times it seems like an eternity since I last saw you alive.
Loving the picture of your dad! It captures so perfectly that youthful confidence and his gaze seems to stretch towards his future with a hopeful heart. What a great legacy he has left you, and I find it no wonder that though he is gone he is not forgotten. He lives on in you forever lady. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us.
I can’t think of anything to say other than that I’ve prayed for you. I can only imagine how difficult it must be. You take care and be encouraged that he’d be so very proud of you. You are his legacy.
So ironic that you would mention this, just minutes ago I wrote an article about missing my mother….Bless You!

I know the feeling. Reflecting while looking at pictures is my favorite release.

Angelia, time heals but feelings never truly disappear do they?
Valerie, thanks. If I ever scan the picture of him holding me when I was a baby, I’ll post it.
LaShonda, I only regret I don’t have any video of him.
