My Interview on the Author’s Couch
I was recently interviewed on the Author’s Couch.
Cornelle: What makes a book Urban? Your book has all the elements of any whodoneit? type mystery. It’s romantic. It’s suspenseful. It’s filled with so many things that are consistent with other successful books. Why is it marketed as “Urban”?
Shelia: There’s a misconception about the word “Urban.” Urban doesn’t mean ghetto. Urban, in the case of books, mean it’s a book by an African-American author. If anyone has read any of my books, they will tell you I don’t write street lit or gangster type books. Those books are out there, if that’s what you like. I write books that are usually set in a metropolitan city, with professional Black men and women as the main characters.

A Forever Love – A Better Off Wed Story
By Shelia M Goss
Trina Thompson has a promising career as one of the top CPA’s at her firm. Since breaking Timothy Underwood’s heart in high school, she’s gone from one relationship to another–each ending in disaster. Trina has vowed off men, until a chance meeting with Tim at a party turns her world upside down. Tim, a former NBA star, is known as “player of the decade” because of his refusal to commit to one woman. The chemistry between Trina and Tim is undeniably strong; however neither Trina nor Tim trust their emotions. Will their past be too much to conquer or will they be able to rekindle the love and happiness they lost years ago?

Oh Tenika, right now, I don’t have any plans to put it out in print but who knows what may happen in the future.
My next paperback book will be Delilah.
Shelia,
