As I posted earlier this month, I got a chance to attend the 2012 Soul Train Awards. The show airs this Sunday (November 25, 2012) on BET or Centric at 9pm ET/PT. For more information, go to www.BETcom/SoulTrain.
Here’s a quick highlight of what I thought of the show and please come back and share your thoughts with me after you see the show. If you want to see some of my pictures from the red carpet, be sure to watch the video at the end of this post or click here for still pictures. One of the best dressed on the Red Carpet was Ms. Faith Evans. If you watch her red carpet video, I’m in the background in several shots doing my own thing.
The show was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. He kept the crowd laughing. There were a number of presenters and performers. I got a chance to see some of my favorite artists all in one spot. Some of the presenters were: Bill Bellamy, Kat Graham, Estelle, Mc Lyte, Flava Flav, Elise Neal, Magic Johnson, Angie Stone, Anthony Hamilton, Tom Joyner and the Morning Show and the list goes on and on.
In my opinion, most of the performances were good so you’re in for a good show. It takes about four hours or so to tape the show but you all will see two hours worth of footage.
Of course, New Edition had me on my feet. I’ve been a fan of theirs for 30 years so it was a treat to be able to see them perform after receiving their Lifetime Achievement Award.
One of the best sets was done by Ne-Yo. I loved his performance.
I’d never seen Miguel live and he didn’t disappoint performing his new song Adorn.
Some of the other performances include those by Keyshia Cole, Eddie Levert, John Legend, etc.
The legendary Stevie Wonder had us all rocking. He’ll have you on your feet at home when you watch it on Sunday.
I’ll wrap it up here but overall it was a great show. I have my memories and will be tuning in on Sunday to see what made the cut in the premiere of the 2012 Soul Train Awards show on BET or Centric.
