thejonesaftermath“Essence bestselling author Goss (Delilah; Ruthless) has a great plot going on and loves twisting the knife between the ribs of her flawed characters. Short chapters, gossip-sheet rich drama, and snappy dialog will have readers turning the pages at turbo speed.” ~ The Library Journal, The Joneses, Best Books of 2014 Pick

“Goss rose to the occasion with this well-rounded story and colorful, 3-D characters who definitely must have a second installment.” ~ USA Today

Reviewed by Angelia Menchan: Be very careful about who you admire. Just completed The Joneses by Shelia Goss and it’s a cautionary tale to be sure. Royce and Lexi Jones are funeral home proprietors and seem to have everything. They certainly have money and status and admirers but there are secrets lurking under their family burial grounds and they will do anything to keep those secrets buried. Lexi, the matriarch is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to protecting her family and her perceived rightful status. The Joneses is filled with drama and intrigue and some interesting insights on what can occur if money and status is your end all and be all. There’s a very real message about giving kids too much. Ms. Goss is one of my favorite authors and The Joneses only added to that. This is a must read. Loved it.

Ms. Goss could easily give Mr. Perry a run for his money if she turned this book into a series for television. I was invested from beginning to end. I did not want to stop reading it, because I wanted to know exactly what other webs were the Joneses going to get tangled up in. I recommend this book to anyone who likes reading about family drama tied up in scandals.
