Announcement Archives

I’m excited to announce that I have a new novel, SADE’S SECRET, scheduled to be released in May 2012. It’s under a pen name, Sparkle. Please help me spread the word. This is probably one of the most impactful books I’ve ever written. Its edgy and raw and will have readers, young and old, talking back to the book. It’s a book that both mothers and daughters can read.

About Sade’s Secret by Sparkle:
There’s nothing sweet about turning sixteen as three friends will soon find out.

Fifteen-year-old Sade Washington has been harboring a secret from her two best friends, Crystal Jackson and Dena Bradford. Her secret is threatened to be revealed when she discovers she’s pregnant. Once Sade’s secret is out, it causes a wedge between her and her mother Joyce. Distraught at her mother’s reactions, Sade toils with a love/hate relationship with her.

Joyce struggles with keeping peace in her household. The relationship between her daughter and live-in boyfriend, Calvin has her in an emotional turmoil. Joyce is determined to make their home a happy one by any means necessary.

Sade attempts to have a normal teen life, but as she turns sixteen, reality hits her head on. She must make choices that will not only affect her future, but that of her unborn child. Sade’s Secret takes the reader on an emotional ride as it deals with a strong subject matter and the dynamics of mother-daughter relationships.

Name My Next Ebook Title Chosen

There were so many good entries that it was hard deciding on one title. I see some other titles I can possibly use for other stories I have floating around in my head. If I use your title for any future book, then your name will be a character in the book. I will contact you via email first.

Congratulations Sasha!  “The Commitment Plan” is the title of the ebook that will be available as soon as next week.

Help Me Name My Next Ebook Contest

Readers I need your help. I’m trying to come up with a title for my next ebook. It’s a reissue of an older book.  I need your help.

Below is the synopsis:

One woman…
Three men…
And people say men have issues committing

This book tackles the subject of commitment phobia from a woman’s perspective by taking readers on a journey with character Paige  Webb. As a professional event planner, Paige decides to use her organizational skills in her personal life. Although meeting men has never been an issue for Paige, it’s the ‘ever after’ that has her scared of commitment. Paige devises a fool proof plan to juggle three men which ultimately catches up with her.

Any suggestions for a new title would be greatly appreciated.  If your title is chosen, your name will appear in the book as a character and you will also receive a free digital copy.

Please submit your TITLE suggestions in the comment field of this blog post.  This contest will end on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Void where prohibited by law.

Whitney Houston We Will Always Love You

I was on Facebook when I first read that Whitney Houston had died. I was hoping it was another one of those fake hoaxes, but when I saw it on Reshonda’s page, I knew it was the truth. I immediately turned to CNN and watched footage after footage about Whitney. Whitney’s only 5 years older than me so I feel like we grew up together; via her music; although I didn’t know her personally. My heart goes out to her daughter, family and fans who loved her.

I simply adored Whitney. She inspired my book about an R & B singer making a comeback.  Her beautiful voice and spirit will be missed.

Last night, Jennifer Hudson did a tribute to Whitney at the Grammy’s.

Here’s Whitney. One of my favorite songs by her.

What is your favorite Whitney song?

About Ruthless:
Quoted from Black Expressions: The Bible story of King David and Bathsheba gets a gritty 21st-century update in Shelia M. Goss’ Ruthless. Sheba and Uriah Richards have been happily married for 10 years. Uriah’s boss is David King, a media magnate whose wealth and power are second only to his love of God. At his first sight of Sheba, David is smitten—and while he prays for strength to resist temptation, Sheba finds herself falling for David. To complicate things further, Sheba’s long-lost half-sister, Delilah, shows up—and soon she connives to get her sis Sheba into David’s bed. After David sends Uriah to an assignment in Afghanistan, he makes his move…and Sheba succumbs to his charms. Then she finds she’s pregnant. Now, only God’s mercy can set Sheba’s life right.
