Why I wrote His Invisible Wife? I want readers to know that holding on to grudges is unhealthy. I show how revenge can wreck havoc on one’s life in His Invisible Wife. I also tap into how greed can cause you to do things you wouldn’t normally do.

The main characters Jake and Brianna are three dimensional. They are not perfect. They do things that will have readers laughing, cheering and may even get them a little upset at some of the decisions the characters make. It’s drama packed and will hold the reader’s attention.

I usually interview my characters before I write a book. I thought it would be fun to share with readers an interview with the main character Brianna Mayfield. 

1.    What is your name? Brianna Mayfield or Bri for short.
2.    Do you own a gun?   Yes. Being in Dallas, I had to learn how to protect myself.
3.   What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? The diamond ring I have yet to get. 
4.  Favorite hobby?  Getting revenge on the Banks is my current hobby.  
5.  What’s one trait you hate about yourself?  I don’t hate anything about myself, but I have a long list of things I hate about Jake Banks and his uncle.  
6.  Middle name?  You’re asking too many personal questions.
7. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment: Revenge, Money and Retribution 
8.  Name 3 things you bought yesterday?  I bought some Lingerie, a Safety Deposit Box, and a lock for my door so Jake can’t burst in anytime he gets ready. 
9. Do you love where you live?  I would if Jake wasn’t here. 
10. Current worry? How I am going to deal with Jake for an entire year without stressing myself out.
11.  Current hate right now? You should know by now—anybody with the last name of Banks.
12.  Favorite place to be?  Any room Jake is not in. 
13.  How did you bring in the New Year? Unfortunately, for the sake of appearance, I had to spend it with Jake at this party he hosted.
14.   Does someone have a crush on you?  Jake does but he’ll never admit it.
15. Favorite Book?  Let’s see…My Invisible Husband by Shelia Goss because that Nikki was something else and oh yeah, The Lip Gloss Chronicles book. Those teens are full of drama; sort of remind me of myself when I was young.
16.   What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up?  I hope no one emails me one of those stupid questionnaires.

HIS INVISIBLE WIFE by Shelia Goss is an entertaining and touching read about love, lies, revenge and family. I consumed this book in one sitting and did not want to let go of the warm and fuzzy feeling I got after I finished.  By the book’s end I was reminded of a scripture that says “…because love covers over a multitude of sins.”   Goss demonstrated the power of love over all the bad things we can do.  Her writing was succinct and very uplifting.  I enjoyed meeting all the characters, for many of them seemed to have a story lurking nearby.  This is a good one to add to your collection.

          “How could you?” Brianna yelled from the other side of the door, as Charles tried to convince her to open the door to her apartment so he could get his stuff. 

            “Bri, you got to understand. Ten thousand dollars is a lot of money. I have my student loans and bills.”

            “You sold me out for ten thousand. You could have at least held out for one hundred—or a million! You’re a piece of work.” His words fueled her scissors as she ripped and cut at the remainder of his clothes, stuffing them in a trash bag as she continued to rant. “I can’t believe you agreed to break up with me for money. I should have kicked you to the curb months ago.”

            “Come on baby. Open up.”

            At his request she opened up the door, throwing the trash bag at him knocking him off his feet. “Screw you, Charles. Here’s your stuff and lose my number,” she yelled.

            “You didn’t have to hit me,” he whined.

            Standing in the doorway she glared at him with rancor shooting from her eyes like fierily darts. “You better be glad that’s all I did,” she glowered through gritted teeth.

“Come on, baby. We can still see each other on the side. He won’t have to know.”

Brianna stood now with one hand slamming on her hip. “It was over the moment you accepted the money so don’t call me. Don’t try to see me. Forget that you ever knew me.”

            She slammed the door. To think she had spent the last twelve months with Charles. She wasn’t going to lie to herself and say she loved him, but she did care about him. She thought she could possibly grow to love him. Fortunately for her, only her pride was hurt. Not like the time she fell in love with Bryon Matthews.

Brianna met Byron her freshman year in college and they were inseparable; or so she thought. Between working at her father’s store and going to school, her free time was limited. She thought Bryon understood; until she got off work earlier one night and caught him with another woman. It broke her heart and no matter how much Byron begged and pleaded, she could not forgive him. She not only lost her virginity to Byron, but her heart.

The phone rang bringing her back to the present. “I ought to make you pay for my stuff,” Charles yelled from the other end.

            Brianna hung the phone up because she refused to listen to him. She let the rest of his calls go to voice mail. He cursed her out in each message and she vowed to get her number changed the next day. Fortunately, she had gotten her locks changed as soon as she got home that afternoon after learning of his betrayal.  She knew she shouldn’t have cut up his stuff, but she needed an outlet for her anger. Besides, she thought it was better to cut up his stuff than to stab him with the sharp scissors that were now placed on the nightstand.

            One problem down and another one to go.
