It’s that time of year again. Sundays and Monday nights will find sports fans tied to the TV screen. Of course, if you’ve been a regular follower of my blog, you already know who my team is.
Who is your favorite football team?
I write romance so you know I couldn’t let this season go by without my take on how to have romance during the football season. I wrote an entire article on the subject.
My top five tips on making the most of football season with your mate:
1. Purchase him a jersey, a hat, or anything with his NFL team on it.
2. Absolutely, do not talk about anything serious to him during the game. He’s not listening and if he does listen, he’ll be mad that you’re interrupting his relaxation time with relationship issues. Save the serious talk for later.
3. If he wants to host a NFL watching party, don’t complain. Be a gracious host and do it cheerfully. You will not go unrewarded
4. Wear a duplicate of your man’s jersey with a tight pair of jeans.
5. If his team wins, celebrate. If his team loses, throw in a stress reliever massage. Win or lose, it can be a win-win situation for you.
Congratulations to my home team, the New Orleans Saints, for winning their 1st Super Bowl. “What a Man” by Salt N Pepa
Congratulations to my home team, the New Orleans Saints, for winning their 1st Super Bowl. We’re partying like it’s Mardi Gras. I dedicate “What a Man” by Salt N Pepa to the whole team. Who Dat?
The players who I heard speak to the reporters after their win, all expressed one common thing–they acknowledged God Almighty. It was destiny. They were the under dogs. The sports experts thought the Colts would win, but if God be for you, it doesn’t matter who is against you.
Miami Gardens, Fla. – Leading 24-17 and trying to stop the Colts, CB Tracy Porter intercepted a Peyton Manning pass and raced 74-yards for a touchdown that gave the Saints a 31-17 lead. Porter, a native of Louisiana, delivered the first Super Bowl title in Saints history. To read the rest, click here.
As you can tell with the floating New Orleans Saints helmets that I am getting ready mentally for the Super Bowl. I know you Dallas Cowboys fans are like, “been there, done that,” but stop hatin’
It’s been hard to function with all of the pre-game celebrations going on and you can guarantee that the parking lot will be emptied so fast after church on Sunday, that you’ll see the dust from the cars spinning off for miles.
I spotlighted these three New Orleans Saints players a week before they won their division, so I wanted to spotlight them again. These guys would be inspiration for a leading man in any one of my books (wink wink).

Sorry Colts fans but this is a Saints blog so no Colts spotlights here; but you’re welcome to leave a comment. I promise not to delete them (and that goes for you Cowboys fans too.)
One positive thing came from my last relationship–a new found appreciation for football–specifically the NFL. Pre-relationship, I only watched the Super Bowl and that was only because of the food and commercials. Post-relationship, I can appreciate the game and the players.
As my home team gets ready for their quest to reach the Super Bowl, I want to highlight one of my favorite NFL hotties–#25 from the New Orleans Saints–Reggie Bush.
Stats: Fine, Fine and Fionne
Favorite quote from Reggie Bush – Saturday, January 16, 2010 – Paraphrasing – “Big time players make big plays.” Here’s to Reggie Bush for doing what he’s paid to do–putting the Saints one step closer to the prize.
Kim K, I’m not mad at you. Reggie is definitely a hottie.
