BLACK BUTTERFLY is what can happen when even the most mild-mannered person has had enough. Be careful how you treat someone because karma could be lurking in the shadows.
Directors Statement
After seeing some of the struggles that African American women experience in all aspects of life, we wanted to use the visual form to showcase some of those things. Jordan Peele is a director that we both admire and his way of tackling controversial topics inspired us to put our own spin on a social issue. The character Rita handled her bad situations one way, but after watching Black Butterfly, we want the audience to be more self-conscious on how others are treated and it’s our hope that others will be an advocate for justice the right way. ~ Shelia M. Goss and Larry D. Brantley, Jr.
About Black Butterfly
